BMSCE is the first college to practice Outcome Based Education (OBE). The college has a dedicated R&D division that introduces the students to innovation, design, prototype, and revisions from the start of Engineering. Students work in groups on multidisciplinary projects in the Propel Labs which is headed by Technically skilled faculty. The admission process is threefold in BMSCE. The students will have to fill out an Online admission form using the seat allotment order from the Entrance Exam board. Once this is done the fee for the first year will have to be paid through a demand draft. All the necessary documents will have to be submitted to complete the admission process and can collect an acknowledgment from the college.

BMSCE offers three broad categories of scholarships to eligible students
Government Scholarship - For SC/ST, backward community, minority scholarship, MHRD scholarship & schemes under National Scholarship Portal. Some examples of Government scholarships are:
Private Scholarships - There are a few scholarships funded privately like, the HAL Employees Welfare Scholarship, S.B.M Employees welfare scholarship & Jindal Scholarship, etc
Huawei Scholarships for Excellence - There is an MoU signed with Huawei and a scholarship of 50K INR is provided to students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year B.E. with high academic performance
BMSCE provides qualifying students with three major categories of scholarships. Specialized Features @ BMSCE
Student Clubs - BMSCE has a Students division which is headed by 30+ years of experienced professors who have designed institution-level forums to encourage students to learn outside the class in their areas of interest.
Upagraha - BMSCE in collaboration with Alpha Design Technologies has started a series of projects to build satellites that give students hands-on exposure to the space segment. There is a dedicated Program team (Satellite Program Cell) to guide the students through the Design, build & launch phase.
BMSCE IEEE - The branch has been operating for over 12 years and its professional networking platform helps students to meet and follow peers who have the same interests in Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
IC (Institute Industry Interaction Cell) - BMSCE works on the culture of collaboration between college and industry to solve problems of mutual interest and they achieve this by signing MoU’s with the companies. The IC team coordinates all the industrial visits, internships, R&D projects, and training for the students.
