About Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE)

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering has been known for its Engineering excellence since its incubation in 1979. DSCE has 04 decades of proven track records. It is one of the few technical colleges which offers the widest choice of Engineering courses with a strong emphasis on Research & Development programs. It offers 18 UG, 13 PG, Basic Science & Humanitarian Courses. DSCE has 20 research centers which are all approved by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) for scholars in various streams of Engineering. 

Education @ DSCE

DSCE has passionate and professional faculty in all streams who go over and beyond teaching by providing 1:1 mentoring to a fixed number of students, this approach helps students to choose the right profession/stream in Engineering as a career. 116 of the high-tech-savvy faculty in DSCE  have registered for the Ph.D. program. The institute puts together the widest choice of academic curriculum & research & development programs to suit the changing needs of industries.

  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center ( IEDC)  - DSCE has invested in a dedicated Cell called IEDC to nurture innovative ideas from budding Engineers who want to become Entrepreneurs. This team plans & conducts activities like Ideathons, workshops, BI Proposals, E-Cell activities, and e-summits to empower young talent to fulfill their dreams. 
  • Budding Entrepreneurs - DSCE has taken the initiative to produce “job seekers” and “Job- Producers” who contribute directly to economic development. DSCE has a track record where few budding entrepreneurs from the college have received funding from MSME for their ideas from a technical summit. 
  • Internship Policy - DSCE has an impactful internship policy to create the future technical talent pool. They have 03 mandatory internships at three stages during Engineering, and they have a mix of intra and inter-institutional internships. The Postgraduate & Ph. D students have research internships and industrial internships which is a pathway to Industry exposure & placement.  
  • Centre for Innovation & Leadership (CIL) - CIL is a dedicated Cell mentoring and coaching students on Soft skills, and provides placement training, self-presentation, and Time management to become industry-ready. Eligibility Criteria

Under Graduate Program

B.E  - The admission for B.E. is based on the meritorious ranking of students from the Common Entrance Test (CET) which is conducted by the Government of Karnataka or Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K). A Pass in PUC/10+2 or equivalent on the first attempt with Physics and Mathematics as Mandatory subjects and an aggregate 45% marks in them. Any one of these optional subjects: Chemistry/Electronics/Biology/Computer Science and English as one of the languages. 

For SC, ST & other backward class minimum mark is 40% aggregate in optional subjects

Post Graduate Program

MBA - The students should have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate in all the years/semesters in the undergraduate degree exams. The PGCET score is compulsory for Government quota students.

In the case of SC/ST/OBC the aggregate percentage to qualify is 45%

M. Tech - The eligibility criteria for M.Tech is a pass in B.E./B.Tech. The ranking from the written test conducted by the University is used for counseling. Please note the candidates with a Valid GATE Exams score will be given the first preference in comparison to the University Written test ranking. 

M.Sc Engineering/Ph.D - The admission criteria for this program are a few: First being the synopsis selection, ULRAT test followed by an interview conducted by the affiliated Research center. Equivalent Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. A written entrance test needs to be cleared followed by clearing the interview

For M. Sc Engg the only difference is the Bachelor’s degree in the same field as what the candidate is applying for Masters's.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - The applicant shall have passed with a minimum 50% aggregate marks in all the years/semesters in the degree exams. The PGCET score is mandatory for the Government quota candidates.

For SC/ST/OBC the aggregate score is a minimum of 45%.

Management Quota  

Engineering - For Management candidates a pass in 12th with a minimum aggregate of 50% score in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with these subjects being compulsory

MBA -  The candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% in all the semesters/years of the graduate degree. Students who have appeared in PGCET, MAT, CAT, or KMAT exams are placed based on merit 

Admission:

There are simple steps  for admission to DSCE

  1. Obtain Seat allotment order from the Entrance Exam Board (E..g. CET/COMED-K/PGCET) and report at the Admission Section in DSCE college
  2. Complete the Online Admission Form
  3. Hand over the Demand Draft at the Cash Counter after filling in the correct Student details
  4. Submit all the Scanned documents using the Student Login details along with the Passport size photos, and download and print the application form.
  5. Sign and submit all the necessary documents along with the application form. 
  6. Finally, collect the acknowledgment for documents submission as well as for the Fees

  • The fee payable during the time of reporting to the college for CET students is Rs. 20,000/- (GM Category)
  • The fee payable during the time of reporting to the college for COMED-K is Rs. 30,610/- per annum.
  • The fee payable during the time of reporting to the college for PGCET students is Rs. 44,026/- (GM Category) per annum.
  • The hostel fee is Rs. 1,51,000/- per annum with Rs.5000/- one time – refundable caution deposit in the first year.

  • Centre for Innovation & Leadership - CIL team is dedicated to pre-placement training in soft skills They guide students to draft industry-standard resumes, and coach them to prepare for Aptitude tests, Presentations, Interviews, and Group discussions.

  • Hostel & Accommodation - DSCE has a well-maintained Hostel for Men & Women. The Mess provides balanced and nutritious vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food to the hostel students. There is a timely inspection of the facility to maintain a high standard of student life for the inmates. 
  • Library - Dayananda Sagar College has gained a reputation for having a world-class library with high standards. DSCE is the first private sector Engineering college that has installed RFID technology in the library. The library has a collection of over a lakh books and E Materials which are meant for undergraduates, Postgraduates, and Ph. D students of various specializations. The friendly & professional librarians help students to make the most of the resources in the library. The campus is fully WI-FI equipped with unlimited bandwidth.
