Overview

B.Sc Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology is an Undergraduate degree with a three-year duration. The course comes under allied Health care which deals with the handling of anesthesia treatment and procedures in an operation theatre. 

Generally, Anaesthesia is given to make the patients lose the feeling of pain and sensation to perform surgeries. Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Anaesthesia course must be known before applying for any college. They are as follows:

  • Students should have cleared Class 10th and 12th with 45% aggregate marks from any recognized College/University.
  • Students should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the 12th class.
  • Students should be 17 or above during admission. 
  • Many colleges have the procedure of doing admission based on the 12th marks and some colleges take students on the basis of entrance exams like NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), Bangalore University Entrance Exam, BVP CET (Bharati Vidyapeeth Common Entrance Test), AICET (All India Common Entrance Test), etc.

Pre-surgery, suring surgery, and post-surgery works in operation theatre are done by these professionals. The salary is also pretty good starting from INR 2 lakhs to 10 lakhs per annum. One can also go for post-graduate studies to upgrade themselves and to gain higher payscale jobs.
