About RV College of Engineering (RVCE)

RV College of Engineering is one of the oldest colleges in the silicon city of India, with a mission to impart quality education to all strata of society. During its incubation, the college had three core  Engineering branches i.e. Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical. Today it offers 12 Undergraduate, 16 Master, and Doctoral Studies. RVCE is one of the top colleges in terms of yearly student intake which is more than 1200 covering UG and PG Programs.

Education @  RVCE:

RVCE is one of the leading Technical Institutions in Bangalore. RVCE is located on Mysore Road and is about 13 km from the city center. The campus is designed in a way to bring out the most skilled and disciplined Engineers. RVCE campus has lifts and ramps to accommodate students with mobility challenges. With Research & Development being the primary focus, the college has completed over 100 projects and has been granted funding for 45 ongoing projects from leading research organizations like DST, DBT, and DRDO.

RVCE Advantage:

  • Student Innovation & Achievement - An elite student from RVCE named Asha Bhat won the Title of Miss Supranational in 2014 and received a cash reward of $25,000 at the event held in Poland. The student group was declared the National Champions in the Vehicle Designing Championship amongst the 44 participants, the competition was held at the National Institute of Technology(NIT) in Jamshedpur.
  • Sports: RVCE gives considerable importance to Sports. Students representing the college in VTU games will get special recognition during campus recruitment. There are sports scholarships, reimbursements, and cash rewards for winners. The college takes full accountability for treating any sports injuries among students.

Eligibility Criteria

Under Graduate

B.E - 

  • The students must have a minimum aggregate marks of 50% in the 12th/PUC or equivalent examination from a recignized board or university in relevant subjects. 
  • Along with that, a qualifying score/ranking in CET/COMED-K/JEE is required

Post Graduate

M.Tech - 

  • To be eligible, the candidate must have a minimum aggregate of 50%(For SC/ST/OBC the marks are a minimum of 45% aggregate in all the years/semesters) in relevant BE/BTech degree from a recognized university.
  • A valid rank in GATE/PGCET exams for the general category. 

MCA 

  • The students who have passed with a minimum score of an aggregate of 50% (For SC/ST/OBC candidates the aggregate score is a minimum of 45%) in any recognized Bachelor’s degree or equivalent like B. Sc or B.Com or B.A with Mathematics in 12th. 
  • The student also needs a valid rank from the PGCET or KMAT exams conducted by the Government of Karnataka. 

Admission

Admission to RV College of Engineering (RVCE) follows specific criteria. Candidates need a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board or equivalent. They should have appeared in either KCET, COMEDK UGET or JEE Main. To apply, candidates must register on the RVCE website, complete the online form with accurate details, upload necessary documents including 10th and 12th mark sheets, and entrance exam scorecards, and pay the required fee. Seat allocation is based on entrance exam performance and branch availability, determined through online counseling. Selected candidates must attend document verification at the college and make the necessary fee payment.

Scholarships

The Department of Placement & training which is a separate entity within RVCE engages with Corporates to avail scholarships for merit students. There is a record of 110 beneficiaries who have received a shared percentage of Rs. 72,00,000/-

RVCE has a division called  Gandhian Principle and Value-based Centre which is aiming to impart education in truth, non-violence, righteousness, and ethics. The center takes initiatives to uplift and empower weaker sections of society, women & Children. 

  • RVCE has a dedicated department for training & placement of UG & PG Students which is spread across an area of 739 sq Mts
  • The layout of the placement department includes a Seminar hall, placement officer's room, staff room, reception, interview rooms, group discussion rooms, and a video conference room.
  • A minimum of 215 companies visited RVCE for placements every year in the last 5 years
  •  5 dedicated staff to engage daily with the corporates within and outside the country to find placements for the students
  • RVCE has seen an increasing trajectory in the number of placements in the last 3 years.

RVCE college is part of the Not for profit trust and is spread around 16.85 acres. RVCE is one of the colleges which has taken various green measures to self-sustain Water, Energy, and Waste on the campus.

  • Hostel & Accommodation - RVCE offers a variety of cuisine to the students and the faculty. The modern kitchen in the college provides 100% sterilized  dishes for cooking and serving. There is a mini canteen alongside the main canteen to provide customized cuisine to students. Last but not least is an Extended Food court counter on campus.  The college has multiple hostel blocks on campus to accommodate the UG and PG students.

  • Transport - RVCE campus is located well within Bangalore city about 12 km. To ease the pressure on the students and the faculty, RVCE  offers BUS facilities. The  college operates two exclusive buses just for staff and faculty. There is the capacity to accommodate over 1000 students in Buses. There is also an option to commute by Metro and the local BMTC buses 
  • Bank & Post Office - RVCE being one of the oldest colleges (60 years) has recognized the need to have a Banking facility on campus. The Bank offers services to over 7000 students and staff. In aid of the hostel residents, there is an ATM as well on campus. The Post office is also a bonus that provides Inward and Outward Mail services daily, as an extension the Post office also offers traditional small saving schemes.
  • Medical/Hospital  Facility - There is a well-equipped and staffed Health center on the campus, which is open to all students and faculty. There are two senior doctors, a staff nurse, and an attendant stationed in the Health center. The medical  center operates through the day until Evening ( 9 AM to 7 PM). There is an ambulance  parked on campus to attend to any emergency
