The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) following a plea demanding fresh round three counselling for NEET PG 2024. The bench, comprising Justices BR Gavai and K Vinod Chandran, acknowledged the petition filed by three NEET PG candidates, raising concerns over compromised counselling processes.
The petition highlights instances of seat blocking by candidates, particularly after delays in the completion of round two counselling in Madhya Pradesh. The plea contends that NEET PG AIQ round three counselling commenced before the conclusion of round two counselling in several states, notably affecting the fairness of the process.
Petitioners argue that certain state quota candidates exploited this overlap, blocking NEET PG AIQ seats while securing preferable seats through their state quotas. This practice allegedly disadvantaged more meritorious candidates who lost opportunities due to seat hoarding.
The Supreme Court's intervention aims to address these irregularities, ensuring transparency and fairness in the NEET PG 2024 counselling process. The court has sought a response from MCC regarding conducting a fresh round three counselling sessions to rectify the alleged discrepancies.
Candidates are advised to stay updated on official announcements from MCC regarding further developments in NEET PG 2024 counselling procedures.
