Karnataka Introduces New Exam System Allowing Students to Choose Best Scores for SSLC and II PU Exams

The Karnataka Department of School Education and Literacy has unveiled a revamped examination system for SSLC (class X) and II PU (class XII) students. This new system offers students the opportunity to take three 'annual exams' and choose their highest score for each subject, replacing the previous supplementary exam format.

Under the old system, II PU graduates could retake exams, with supplementary exam marks considered final. However, the new system rebrands these exams as annual exams 1, 2, and 3, ensuring uniformity in question paper content and difficulty levels.

Additionally, students joining the academic course late will receive a 'bridge course' to make up for missed classes in the initial month.

The tentative exam schedule includes II PU Exam 1 from March 1 to 25, results on April 22, Exam 2 from May 15 to June 5, and the third exam from July 12 to 30. For SSLC, the first exam is set from March 3 to April 15, the second from June 12 to 19, and the third from July 29 to August 5. This flexible system aims to reduce examination stress and empower students to achieve their best results.
