Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is one of the renowned private Engineering colleges in Karnataka. NMIT was established in 2001 by NITTE Education Trust and now it has reached its silver jubilee year. The trust also runs 34 other institutions. The college received its autonomous status in 2007.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT) is one of the renowned private Engineering colleges in Karnataka. NMIT was established in 2001 by NITTE Education Trust and now it has reached its silver jubilee year. The trust also runs 34 other institutions. The college received its autonomous status in 2007. It is one of the youngest colleges to attain autonomy within 6 years of inception. It is approved by AICTE, affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU and is accredited by the NBA).
Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Ph.D. programs. Currently, 5000 students are studying at NMIT Bangalore which involves foreign admissions too. The college receives funding from World Bank Funding under TEQIP Phase II- Subcomponent 1.1.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility criteria for Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology are as follows:
- Undergraduate degree: Candidates must have qualified PUC or 12th grade or equivalent examination recognized by an authoritative board with Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and English as compulsory subjects.
- Students must have reached the age of 17 or must have attained before December 31st of the joining year.
Postgraduate degree: Candidates must have completed a respective undergraduate degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% for the General category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC students. Passing of GATE/PGCET is mandatory for M.Tech admissions.

Both girl’s hostels accommodate 520 students and all the boy’s hostels in total can accommodate 1200 students. Four sharing and two sharing rooms are available. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods are available. Reading rooms, tv rooms, security, medical center, sports facilities, gym, and other amenities are available.
