The Journey
Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT), established in 1962 by Dr. M.S Ramaiah, the visionary and philanthropist who founded many remarkable firms in India. It is the first institution that was formed under Dr. Ramaiah’s Gokula Education Foundation. The Ramaiah college Bangalore made its mark in the Engineering field with its exceptional quality of education. RIT was initially affiliated with Mysore University, then shifted its affiliation to Bangalore University (until 2002) and is currently affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
RIT Bangalore has 14 undergraduates, 17 postgraduate, and 15 research courses. Ramaiah College is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & NAAC. The Architecture Department got the approval of the Council of Architecture. In 2007, it was granted autonomous status for its Undergraduate and postgraduate courses. RIT Bangalore is independent to structure its academic curriculum and assess exams yet VTU grants degrees. The college celebrated its Golden Jubilee year in 2012. It was previously named as M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT). The college is responsibly run by the heirs of M.S Ramaiah under the Gokula Education Foundation.

IBM Centre of Excellence: RIT has got the honor of being Karnataka's first IBM Centre of Excellence which was established on 19 March 2009. It trains faculties as well as students on the latest technologies. They allow students to do their projects with their guidance.
Abode RIA Lab: MSRIT Abode RIA Lab set up by Adobe Systems in Ramaiah college gives web-related training. The computer science and IT-related departments can benefit from learning Web 2.0 and Rich Internet Applications (RIA) with Adobe.
Schneider Electric: The center of Schneider Electric at RIT Bangalore emphasizes giving courses on Industrial process automation and control.
Intel Centre of Excellence: It has been established on the RIT campus to coach the lecturers of MSRIT and other college faculties on architectures and parallel programming. The trainers here are experts from IISc and Intel. This gives an edge over others and results in upping their practical knowledge.
EMC2 Knowledge Centre: This particular center provides the opportunity to use materials, videos, white papers, books, demos on Information Storage Management and 'Storage Area Networks. It also contributes an elective paper in the 6th semester of the B.E degree.

Entrance Exams:
For UG courses, you can apply for RIT seats through COMEDK/KCET/Management quota. The process for each is explained below:
COMEDK UGET Application:
The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) is a state-level common entrance exam for B.E/B.Tech programs in various colleges. To apply for KCET, check out its online application on the official website, fill it and register for it by paying the registration fee. Both Karnataka students and non-Karnataka students can apply for it.
KCET Application process:
Karnataka Common Entrance Exam (KCET) is a common entrance exam conducted for admission into various Karnataka colleges for B.E/B.Tech programs. You can apply via brochure-cum-application forms provided via your school/colleges. On filling the application, candidates must send it to the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) before the deadline. This is exclusively conducted for Karnataka students and non-Karnataka students cannot apply for it. RIT Bangalore admits KCET qualifiers.
RIT Management Quota Application process:
RIT application process starts with the online application available on their website. Download it and take a printout of it. Then fill in the entries they have asked for. Be cautious of any mistakes as the college might reject the faulty application. Upon filling it, reach the college and submit the application form.
For Post Graduation, there are four courses offered by KIT Bangalore. Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria to fill the application form to enrol in MCA, MBA, M.Tech and M.Arch. courses at RIT Bangalore.
GATE/PGCET Application:
The RIT admission process to a two-year postgraduate course in M.Tech and M.Arch requires a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% and a valid GATE/PGCET score. Candidates have to apply and appear for GATE/PGCET and obtain a valid score.
On the basis of the marks obtained in the above-mentioned entrance exam, candidates have to submit the RIT Bangalore application form. They will be short-listed based upon the mark they score in these exams. Shortlisted candidates then have to go through document verification and pay the fee.
KMAT / CMAT/ PGCET or MAT exam Application:
The RIT admission process to the two-year MBA course requires a Bachelor’s degree with a and a valid GATE/PGCET score. Candidates have to apply and appear for GATE/PGCET and obtain a valid score. The National Service Scheme (NSS):
It is a program by the Government of India begun in 1969 to instill social consciousness, responsibility, empathy towards other humans, respect for others, discipline, and dignity of labor among college students, motivating students to use their free time by participating in social service activities.
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC):
Formed in 2003 at RIT, Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) sheds awareness on Entrepreneurship, its benefits, and its current growing importance for it. It implants the concept of Entrepreneurship in the young minds and fosters student’s ideas to become their dream company.
Student Information System:
The Ramaiah college established the Student Information System (SIS). It is an online application that helps students and their parents/guardians to get updated details on various college information like test scores, attendance status, timetable, lesson plans, and so on. This helps parents to be in the know of their student’s performance in college.
Technology Incubation Centre:
The incubation center is the home to student’s entrepreneurship ideas. It provides the necessary facilities to start a start-up. Guidance will also be provided by mentors and experts in the field.
